Benefit Law Legal Update: Are You Ready for 2025?
The Desert Communities EAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping California businesses informed on workforce laws and human resource issues. We are an event partner with the Employment Development Department.
Are you ready for 2025? Are you struggling to keep up with all the changes in federal benefits laws--and what you must do to implement them? Are you interested in how you should be addressing these changes during open enrollment? Are you curious about all the bills making their way through the legislature and what they mean to benefit and HR professionals? This program will provide you with a timely update on the most essential new developments.
The program will cover:
· An update on the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (CAA)
· A roundup of new federal developments impacting employee benefits
· An update on ACA compliance, including section 4980H and the 2024 Forms 1094/1095
· A summary of the actions of the California legislature in 2024 which will impact benefits and the workplace

Marilyn A. Monahan is the owner of the Monahan Law Office in San Marcos and Marina del Rey, CA. She focuses her practice on advising employers and consultants on compliance with employee benefit and insurance laws impacting health and welfare plans, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, CAA, and related Internal Revenue Code provisions. She has served on the board of directors for PIHRA and the EBPA. Marilyn currently serves on the PIHRA Foundation board and as an advisor to PIHRA’s Government Advocacy Team
