Difficult Terminations Part II

The Desert Communities EAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping California businesses informed on workforce laws and human resource issues.  We are an event partner with the Employment Development Department.

Our attendees will learn:

• Thoroughly understand what prompted the decision to terminate.
• Are the employee’s performance issues thoroughly documented?
• Has the employee previously engaged in a protected activity?
• Does the employee have a protected status?
• Is the employer prepared to deal with a lawsuit?

Vee Sotelo is the Chair of Slovak Baron Empey Murphy & Pinkney LLP’s Labor & Employment Department. She represents employers throughout California and other states. Ms. Sotelo’s practice includes providing employers with counseling and guidance as well as defending employers in litigation.
