The Desert Communities EAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping California businesses informed on workforce laws and human resource issues.  We are an event partner with the Employment Development Department.

      With over 40 years of experience, Jon offers employment counsel and training programs to companies of all sizes to reduce liability and protect against lawsuits.  His team represents over 5000 companies throughout California on day-to-day employment law issues, including over 250 hospitality clients covering hotels, country clubs and restaurants; including dinner houses, casual dining and fast-food franchisees.  Jon enjoys a stellar and long-standing reputation as a skilled trial attorney and his team has handled hundreds of class action and single-plaintiff cases in all aspects of wage and hour law and wrongful termination. Jon is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude in history from UCLA. He is the author of two editions of the nationally acclaimed and award-winning book, The Cultural Encyclopedia of Baseball. He resides in Camarillo with his wife of 41 years, Angela, a retired public school teacher.

      Erik is an employment and personal injury litigator with over thirty years of experience at the trial and appellate levels representing parties in all aspects of litigation involving employment issues, catastrophic personal injuries, business litigation, and real estate and construction disputes. He shared a nomination as the Consumer Attorneys of California trial lawyer of the year and the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association trial lawyer of the year for his role in obtaining the largest personal injury verdict in Ventura County history for $39M on behalf of a catastrophically injured CHP officer.
      Erik is a past President of the Ventura County Bar Association and the VCBA Business Litigation section.  He is also on the board of the Judicial Evaluations Committee, the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association, and is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.  He is a longtime member of the Downtown Ventura Rotary Club and is a past professor of civil procedure at the Southern California Institute of Law.
